Not so much! I've seen it time and time again, people who think they can just throw up a blog or web site and the followers will just show up on their doorstep. People who think they can sign up with a company as a consultant and the people will come flocking to them, as they sit in their own craft room. I cannot tell you the number of people I have spoken to how never attended craft shows, never go to crops. Never take opportunities to be a vendor at local events. Yet, somehow they think they are going to meet new crafters and customers. Wow!
You've got to get out and meet people. Teach classes at your local craft or scrapbook store. Take the time to exhibit at local crops. Build your base. Pass out your business cards. Make use of already established companies, people and events. Make a name for yourself. Get out and get to know people...they might be your next best customer or promoter!
What are you doing to build your customer base, your line of support?
