Growing your business means staying engaged with your audience. One great way to keep your audience involved and coming back is to provide a simple yet fun tutorial, especially for those who are catering to other crafters.
Here are the essential steps for writing a great tutorial:
Choose a Specific Title: Be specific with your title. Make it clear, ie How to Make a Tri-Fold Card. Or get creative but make sure the subtitle makes it clear. Tri-Fold Fun, Surprise a Friend: How to Make a Tri-Fold Card.
Start with a photo of the completed project. This photo is what will make the reader want to continue. They get to see the finished project and become inspired!
Provide a supplies needed list. Include a list of everything needed to complete the project. Be sure to list specific brands, when possible. People like to know the brands so they can duplicate and also they like to know your preferences and why. This is also another good spot for a photo. Numbered or bulleted lists work great here.
Instructions/Steps: Be sure to break down your project into easy steps. Include a photo and description/instructions for each step. Include any tips you may have, suggestions or pointers. Numbered steps are a great option.
Optional: Include additional details about the project: How long the project may take, list what it is good for how it can be used, list of where to find products and if you are providing projects appropriate for children you can include an age-range.
