Copyrights and Card Making.

Don't infringe on copyright laws.  Here are a few tips to follow when making handmade greeting cards.

  • Using short quotes in your cards is typically allowed, as long as you include the correct attribution.
  • Never copy the work of another artist without permission.
  • Check the "angel" policy of stamp companies.  These policies explain whether or not you can sell handmade items that include their products.  Some paper and die cut companies may also have special policies in place to address this.  Be sure to check.
  • Be sure to check terms of use when downloading fonts, graphics and clip art.  Many companies list if items are for "personal use only."
